Audio Help Checklist - Revised: 2021

In a room or session, you may hear:

  • Speaking by people in the session.

  • Recordings, such as music.

  • Pre-defined sounds, such as <<Bell>> or <<Applause>>.

  • hotComm Windows Sound Events, such as sounds that play when someone joins a room.

You can configure your computer with:

  • Text-to-Speech, which uses the Microsoft Speech API to read aloud the text in your transcript.

You can record the audio in a session.

With hotComm Standard/Pro, you can create abbreviations (AE) that play speech or recordings. See Abbreviations.

Also, Professor hotComm successfully uses third-party Speech Recognition Software (SRS) to speak instead of typing to post messages. See Using Speech Recognition Software.
