About the Recording Files

These are the files associated with Session Recording, as well as the files that may be saved as part of a session.

Look in your hotComm T'SCRIPTS folder. There are several ways to open T'SCRIPTS:

  • You may have a shortcut to the T'SCRIPTS folder on your desktop. It may be titled hotComm transcripts.

  • Or, right-click the Recording button and click Maintain Library.

  • Or, you can open the folder this way:

    1. Click your Windows Start button.
    2. Select Programs or All Programs.
    3. Select 1stWorks Corporation.
    4. Select the folder for your product: hotComm or hotCommLite or hotCommCL.
    5. Select T'SCRIPTS.

The files are:

Folder Filename Description
T'SCRIPTS filename.WAV Audio file created by a Session Recording. Play it through hotComm, or you can play this file separately, using any Windows media player. (Right-click the filename, then select Open with and select the media player of your choice).

Recording Format: The recording is in the PCM WAV format.
T'SCRIPTS filename.HCR Session Recording file. Play it through hotComm, using the Session Playback toolbar to start and stop it.

During installation, hotComm creates a file association for HCR files.
T'SCRIPTS filename.HVD Video file created by a Session Recording, if Webcam selected. Play it through hotComm, using the Session Playback toolbar to start and stop it.

During installation, hotComm creates a file association for HVD files.

These are files that may be saved with the session. They are not part of a Session Recording:

Folder Filename Description
T'SCRIPTS filename.HCS Transcript file saved automatically or by you during a session. The transcript contains the text you see, including private messages sent by or to you.

During installation, hotComm creates a file association for HCS files.
UPLOADS filename.HCC Timed and still camera shots that you see during a session. For Timed Camera shots, updates are not saved, only the first shot you see. For Still Camera shots, only the shots you actually see are saved. Shots that are posted as links in the transcript, but that you do not click, are not saved.
