1st Works Announces Version 6.0 Of Its hotComm Real-Time Conferencing, Collaboration and Content Delivery Platform

Offers additional secure File Repository features, archive retrieval and improved session management tools

BOSTON, MA, July 25, 2006 – 1stWorks, a real-time interactive communications software company with solutions for secure collaboration, conferencing, and multimedia content delivery, incorporating its patent pending data compression technology, today announced the latest version of its hotComm on-demand desktop conferencing and collaboration platform.

hotComm 6.0 delivers improved features in hotDoc, extending the collaborative capabilities of hotComm to provide a secure virtual workspace where collaborative content, for example documents or design drawings, can be maintained so that group collaboration or individual review of content can occur more effectively. With improved version control, multiple files may be stored, checked out, updated and commented, all within the collaborative workspace, for the more efficient use by all participants while our improved data compression makes access to these files both fast and efficient.

hotComm 6.0 also offers improved collaboration tools, providing presenters with the ability to yield control of their desktop, and any applications, to any other session or event participant, whatever the size of the meeting. All participants continue to view and share the content, which is retained and updated on the presenter’s local desktop, however control of the application and the content is passed to any other selected user.

"This latest version of hotComm represents our continuing commitment to listen to our customers and respond to their evolving needs," said Nigel Spicer, president of 1stWorks. "hotComm’s rich feature set has been built to deliver the level of real-time multimedia communications, secure connections, scalability and instant accessibility necessary to users in today’s high-velocity world. Improved real-time information sharing is increasingly critical to companies as they expand both nationally and globally. The need for cost-effective multimedia communications among employees, customers and partners will only grow in coming years and 1stWorks will continue to support that growing market with solutions that deliver maximum return on the investment.".

The hotComm solution is ideal for employee training, for distance learning and virtual yet interactive meetings, such as global presentations and sales demonstrations, because it offers rapid delivery and presentation of multimedia content, including chat, shared applications, data, voice over IP, together with live and recorded video right from the desktop. hotComm’s architecture combines desktop networking connectivity with server-assisted broadcasting to deliver powerful new features that enhance speed, efficiency and convenience.
