1stWorks introduces hotComm 4.00, featuring a new and more intuitive user interface as well ThruVu, 1stWorks exciting new technology to provide hotComm panel transparency for display space constrained users
Sudbury, MA, June 1, 2004 - 1stWorks Corporation today announced the release of hotComm 4.00, the latest update in its sequence of feature rich desktop software clients for secure, spontaneous and scalable multimedia collaboration, conferencing and content delivery.
hotComm 4.00 features a redesigned user interface with convenient pull down menus and many space saving features for those users who have space limitations on their display. These include
-
ThruVu technology, where individual users can set the degree of transparency of their hotComm client on the desktop to continue to see the transcript comments from other session members yet retain full screen visibility for charts and presentations, simply by looking through the hotComm
client to the information presented below. For presenters, this also means that they can share the content below the hotComm client window when they have selected ThruVu mode without losing any display space.
-
Another feature to improve ease of use for presenters has placed a duplicate set of audio controls on the title bar of the client so that presenters can adjust their audio settings instantly during a session without opening a secondary menu and disturbing the presentation content.
-
For those presenters who add live video to their content, audio and video are now delivered in a synchronized stream with the hotPointer to create a seamless appearance for the session members.
-
Another feature for the display space constrained users is the ability to undock the transcript window itself and minimize the hotComm client for maximum space saving while capturing the essential content. Recovering the undocked window is simple, simply select Cascade windows which will aggregate all open hotComm windows and is particularly valuable for users with multiple monitors.
-
Users who wish to record event or session audio and where the room owner provides that feature, can now use the innovative audio recording timer for unattended recording, saving the results automatically to your system to be replayed at your convenience
-
Finally, in hotComm 4.0, we have added internationalization, which means that in any session, keyboarding in any native language will automatically display in the same character set for receivers in the session who have the same keyboard selection.
As ever, we will continue to improve the features of hotComm and incorporate the very valuable suggestions and feedback we receive form our many trader customers.
