1stWorks Corporation announces formation, staffing and initial focus on p2p marketplace.
Former Cyber Patrol executives to lead fast growth Internet connectivity company.
Sudbury MA, October 23, 2000 - 1stWorks Corporation
confirmed its formation today and announced
that it had assembled a stellar team of software developers
to address significant market opportunities. 1stWorks has
already defined its first product, hotComm, based on 1stWorks
proven and patentable technology for true, i.e. serverless,
peer to peer connectivity, delivering truly fast and efficient
interactive communication. 1stWorks' development team will
focus their efforts on effortless implementation and ease
of use.
hotComm provides a bi-directional
Communication Dialog-Box enabling fast, efficient, private
interactive access or exchange of text, speech or file transfer
between participating hotComm users on the web. Participating
users may be world-wide, and are not required to be aligned
with AOL or any other particular ISP. The individualized HotCom
client program, which is installed on each participating subscriber's
computer, periodically updates the current user's address.
This information enables hotComm to maintain the Active User
Table so that individual users can establish direct, interactive
and protected peer to peer connections between themselves
after authentication. For maximum efficiency, text messages
are transferred word by word, rather than by line or complete
messages. hotComm works with any access provider and uses
standard http traffic protocols to minimize firewall restrictions.
Additional hotComm features provide for Missed Call list maintenance
and reconnection and security and privacy provisions, such
as do not disturb flags, black-list contact rejection or automatic
white-list contact acceptance.
