If you have Kaspersky Internet Security or Anti-virus, and hotComm is online but you can't connect to a room or the relays stay red, then please follow the steps for configuring Kaspersky. See Configure

You must re-configure Kaspersky after upgrading your copy of hotComm. See Reconfigure Kaspersky.

Notes:

  • Pause Protection
You can turn Kaspersky off temporarily long enough to connect to your room. Once you have connected to the room, you can turn Kaspersky on again and you'll stay connected to the room. To pause Kasperksy, right-click the Kaspersky icon and select Pause Protection and then select an option such as In 1 minute.

  • Norton firewalls
If you have previously installed Norton Internet Security or Norton Personal Firewall, hotComm may be unable to connect to relay servers until you completely remove the remnants of the Norton software that are left behind by their uninstall, even if you have configured Kaspersky correctly. See Norton.

The Kaspersky website is at www.kaspersky.com.
