How to Join a Room

This is how you join a Relay Room. In all cases, you must know the name of the target (a Content Relay server) and the room you want to join.

Join with hotComm Lite
Join with hotComm Standard/Pro
To join a room with hotComm Standard/Pro:
- Start hotComm and wait until hotComm is online with the 1stWorks Network.
- In your Peer List:
Double-click the FREE symbol in front of the name of the target Content Relay server (for example, Relay).
- or -
Right click on the name of the target Content Relay server and select Join Content Relay Room from the menu that appears.

- Enter the room (for example, support) and optional password in the Join Room dialog, and click Join.
If your Peer List is empty, click the blue triangle next to Add Peers. If that doesn't show any entries, contact 1stWorks Support to get the addresses.
Join as a Panel Peer
You must be authorized by the Content Relay Manager in order to join as a Panel Peer.
Make sure you are configured as a Panel Peer:
- Click the M button in the top toolbar.
- Select the Panel Peer radio button and enter this information:

To join a room as a Panel Peer:
- In your Peer List, single-click the FREE symbol in front of the name of the target Content Relay server.
Note: Single-click the FREE to join as a Panel Peer. Double-click to join as a room attendee.
Join using a Web Link
If you want to join a room using an IM-Live web link with hotComm or hotComm Lite:
- Start hotComm or hotComm Lite, and make sure it is online.
- Then, click an IM-Live link, or type the IM-Live link address in your browser.
- The connection should be made in your hotComm Lite dialog.
DO NOT LOG IN USING IM-LIVE!!!!!
If you see IM-Live dialogs, wait for them to go away (DO NOT LOG IN). If they don't go away, close the IM-Live dialogs, refresh your browser, and try again.
Example: the 1stWorks Support Forum button on the 1stWorks Support page has an IM-Live link to the Support Forum room. The address for this link is: http://relay.ezpeer.net/im-live/?rm=support
