Step-by-Step: hotComm Standard/Pro Registration

Unique email address required: Do not register the same email address more than once, even if you have uninstalled and are now reinstalling, or if you are trying to move hotComm to another computer. Use a different email address, or contact 1stWorks Support.

Second computer: Do not register a second computer if you plan to share the license between two computers (such as your home and office computers). See 1 License, 2 Computers.

1. Welcome: Click Next if you are a new user. Otherwise, click Exit.
   
   
   
   
2. Account creation/validation: Enter the information and click Next.
   
   
   • First and last name: enter your name.
   • Nickname: this is your identity name, which others see.
   • Email address: register any email address only once.
   • Telephone: enter your telephone.
   • Password: enter a password of your choice and confirm it.
     
     
   • Website: choose a name you like. (This becomes part of a standard web address for accessing certain pages on your computer, and people can call into you using this address. The full addresses are: your-website.ezpeer.net and your-website.im-live.com/im-live/. See IM-Live and ezPeer in the online User Guide.)

   The Next button turns black when all information has been filled in and your two password entries match.

   
   
   
3. Registration verification: review, and click Next.
   
   
   
   
4. Activation key validation (shown filled in): paste your 45-character Activation code in, and click Next.
   
   Notes from Support:
   
   
   • The code is sent by email. Arrival times are usually quick, but may vary. If it does not arrive within several hours, do not try to register again. Contact 1stWorks Support.

     While you are waiting, you can click Cancel. To return to this screen, start hotComm by double-clicking the hotComm icon on your desktop.

   • In the email, highlight the key, press your Ctrl and C keys at the same time to copy it. In the registration screen, click in the Activation Key field, and press your Ctrl and V keys at the same time to paste it.
     
     
   • The key is also called Registration Key, Authentication Key, and Verification key.
     
     
   • This is not the same as the Unlock Code, which you receive when you purchase a license. Unlock codes start with 3 characters and a hyphen, such as: HCL-, HCP-, IML-. hotComm must be registered and running before you can apply an Unlock Code.

   The Next button turns black when the key is correct.

   
   
   
5. Finish: Click Finish. hotComm starts automatically after registration.
