HiFi Sound

Send HiFi To send high quality sound (especially music) to session participants, select Send HiFi. Note:
  • Only one person in a session can select Send HiFi.

  • Send HiFi is cleared at the end of the session. Set it again, each time you want to send high quality sound.

  • Send HiFi is not appropriate for sessions that include participants with dial-up connections because of the speed. Participants must have DSL, cable modem, or other broadband connections.

  • When Send HiFi is on, the microphone icon turns magenta with a blue background.

Music

To send music through a hotComm room:

Right-click the hotComm mic button and:

  1. Check the HiFi box.
  2. Click the Audio Record Controls button.
  3. In the Windows Recording Control window, select Options and then Properties.
  4. In the Properties window, make sure that the Mixer device is set to WAV (for example, mine is set to VIA Audio (WAVE).
  5. Click OK to everything to close the windows.

Turn your mic on (left click the mic button). With HiFi on, it should show as a pink mic on a yellow stand.

Play your music through Windows Media Player or any other audio player, and it should play through the room.

Note: the room must be enabled for HiFi, and the moderator must not have disabled invited guests' mics.
