hotComm Direct Connect Shortcuts

To download and install the Room Desktop Link Creator utility, click here. That creates a desktop shortcut.

Or, you can create a desktop shortcut yourself, using the instructions below.


Create Shortcut

You can create a shortcut on your desktop to connect directly to a specific hotComm room.

  1. Right-click anywhere on your computer desktop, select New and then Shortcut.



  2. Type the location of the item: hotcomm://relay:support
    except change "relay" to your relayserver name
    and change "support" to your room name.

    and click Next.



  3. Type a name for the shortcut and click Finish.





Change Icon

Optionally, choose an icon for the shortcut.

  1. Optionally, copy our icon to your computer. Right-click on the icon graphic, and select Save As. The filename is HotLink.ico, and you can put it anywhere you want (recommended location: C:\\program files\1stWorks).


  2. Right-click on the current icon for the shortcut you made above, and select Properties. Then click Change icon.



  3. Click Browse, search for an icon of your choice, and click Ok.
