These are some of the questions we've been asked about hotComm revision 7.20.

  • What's in the release?
    A new connection log, individual room nicknames for Standard-Pro users, cusomizable AEs for Lite users, new CP Plus product -- please see Revision History.

  • I get error messages when downloading
    If you are having problems downloading the upgrade, try directly from our website, at www.hotcomm.com/downloads.asp.

  • I get a list of error messages when starting my hotComm client. What is this?
    That's the Connection Log. It shows the connections your hotComm client makes as it starts up. Its written for our engineers. If you have a problem connecting, click the Email button and send it to us along with a brief description of what you're doing. Otherwise, just wait until it finishes and then close it.

  • What's the room password?
    hotComm Std/Pro -- if you double-click the room to join it, the new revision remembers the room password from before you upgraded. However, if you right-click the room name, you get a new "Join Room" window, where you can put in a special nickname to use for this room if you want; you do need to put the password in again.

    Note: hotComm Support does not know the room passwords.

  • I get an error message connecting to my room
    Please see a description of the new error messages, at www.hotcomm.com/connect.asp.
