This is a sample Room Request form. You can fill it out and click Continue, which gives you a printable summary of the requested information. Note that 1stWorks staff should use the Internal version of this form instead of this sample.

Room Capacity and Clients

Allow Java clients Yes = Allow Java clients in the room.
No = Block Java clients from joining the room.
Allow CL Users Yes = allow hotComm CL clients to join the room.
No = block hotComm CL clients from joining the room.
Capacity now Maximum number of people in room concurrently, including all clients.
Future capacity? Estimated future capacity for the room.
Java/CL % Percentage of maximum who can be using Java or CL clients (combined). The highest percentage is 99%.
Java/CL
allowed days
Number of days allowed for Java/CL use. These are counted as individual days that can be separated in time, and the count is based on Java/CL connections per IP address. Multiple connections from the same IP on the same day are counted as one day. Users who exceed number of days are redirected to a message page. 0 = unlimited.
SignUp URL  
URL that user is redirected to when Java/CL allowed days are exhausted. Include "http://". (Example: http://www.hotcomm.com/custom/max_roomname.asp). Usually the room concierge determines this URL, so you can leave it blank.

Panelist settings Specifications

Authorize as Panelist Yes = Authorize this room email as an authorized panel peer for the relay server.
No = room email is not an authorized panel peer.
Block Panel Peer Yes = Block a Panel Peer user from a server
No = Allow the Panel Peer.

Room Specifications

List Room Name Yes = Include room name in HC Peer List Relay server drop-down list.
No = Do not include name.
Unmoderated Yes = people can join the room without a moderator.
No = room is closed until a moderator joins.
Note: in an Unmoderated room, Timed Camera is always auto-minimized.
Pass Ref User (Jreferer) Yes = do not present password challenge if the person connects from an allowed domain. Note: needs Jreferer, under Java Applet.
No = if the room has a password, always present password challenge.
Upload Transcipt Yes = allow the room transcript to be saved on the relay server.
No = transcripts are not saved on the servers. People joining the room cannot see transcript entries prior to joining.

CL Users features

Enable CL StillCam Yes = allow CL users to send still hotCam shots. (Moderator can disable this during the session.)
No = disallow CL still hotCam shots.
Note: Applies only if CL Allowed.
Enable CL hotWeb Yes = allow CL user to use hotWeb. (Moderator can disable this during the session.)
No = disallow CL hotWeb.
Note: Applies only if CL Allowed.
No CL Sounds Yes = disallow the Pre-defined sounds (ear with music button) for CL clients.
No = allow Pre-defined sounds in CL.
Note: Applies only if CL Allowed.

Voice and Timed Camera and Terms of Use AE

VoIP Quality
ex: 3
The maximum VoIP Quality setting for the room. This setting overrides a speaker's VoIP Quality, if the speaker's quality is set higher.

Levels Recommended for ...
3 Most rooms Where most of the audio is people speaking, and available bandwidth for listeners may vary.
5 Webinar rooms Where they play music briefly while people are joining a scheduled webinar.
Levels 1-5: audio is sent at 8kHz, with increasingly higher compression and resolution.
6-7 HiFi HiFi quality for people seriously broadcasting music. Note: very bandwidth intensive, listeners must have significant bandwidth.
Level 6: audio is sent at 16kHz.
Level 7: audio is sent at 32kHz.



TCam Delay
ex: 0.0 sec
Force a delay in sending timed camera images, in seconds. Timed camera updates in this room will be sent at the interval the presenter has specified, plus this delay. Use this if the room is sending images too frequently or if many participants in the room are complaining of frozen charts.

Terms of Use AE (touAE) Pop-up a Terms of Use disclaimer with I Accept and I Decline buttons that Users (not moderators) must click in order to enter room. (The button text cannot be changed.)

The Disclaimer must be: plain text (no formatting), no more than 1000 characters (including spaces). [Engineering maximum is 1024, usable maximum = 1000.]

Enable Video Yes = Allow video in the room (Note: client software must also allow video.)
No = Do not allow video.
Enable hotDoc Yes = Allow hotDoc for room.
No = Do not allow hotDoc.
Enable Open Mic PS Yes = enable open Mic in Private Session.
No = do not allow open Mic in Private Session
Enable CL+ Demo Yes = Allow a trial period of Plus for new CL users.
No = Do not allow trial period.
Enable TrueColor32 Yes = Allow 32-bit TrueColor (use for exceptionally fast requiments, such as radiology).
No = Do not allow 32-bit TrueColor.
Enable Puppets Yes = enable Puppets
No = do not enable Puppets
Display Puppets as ... Select the client that puppets will be displayed as using.

Miscellaneous

Setup Moderators
TTJOINs
Set up a custom Text message and/or HTML Pop-up that users see on joining the room. Text message must be in PLAIN TEXT (no formatting). For HTML pop-up, send the URL of the webpage.

Text TTJoins must be: plain text (no formatting), no more than 990 characters (including spaces). [Engineering maximum is 1024, usable maximum is 990.]

HIPPA Key Set up an extra-strong encrypted password for the room. See hotComm Support for information about this.

Filter Controls Enable transcript filtering by moderators. See hotComm Support for information about this.

Session Control Defaults

Session Control defaults Describe any Session Control defaults and/or check the default settings you want. These will be in place when the room opens. Moderators can override them during the session.
